Welcome to Newt Games. We're the games side of Newt Group, and this is a home for the things we make to play: board games for a shared screen, quick puzzles, and experiments that start with a small idea we want to try.
Some of those games have been around for a while. Whoops!! turns a race around the board into a chance to ruin a friend's carefully laid plans. Air Ludo is our take on Aeroplane Chess, with shortcuts, stacked pieces, and the occasional crash. Think Big asks a simpler question: which colored area is the biggest, and can you spot it before the timer runs out?
We like games that are easy to get into and leave room for a bit of personality. Sometimes that means a piece reacting to a bad turn. Sometimes it's a rule that makes an ordinary move feel like a small victory. Those details are a large part of what makes these projects fun to work on.
A place for the work around the games
The game collection brings together downloads, screenshots, rules, and the Papercut browser demo. The mini games are a smaller corner of the site: quick things to play in a browser, alongside experiments that give us room to try different ideas.
This blog is where we'll share more of the work behind them. That might be a look at how a game changed, a design decision that took a few attempts, or a development note about something we've been figuring out. We've also brought an older Whoops!! redesign thread into the archive, so its before-and-after pictures have a home here.
For the rest of our apps and utilities, visit Newt Group. If you try a game, we'd like to hear how it goes. Send us a note about a confusing rule, something that broke, or a detail you enjoyed. That feedback helps us decide what to work on next.
